| Description: | Inhibition of human placental aromatase was determined by monitoring the amount of 3H2O released as the enzyme converts [1beta-3H]androst-4-ene-3,17-dione to estrone. The aqueous layer was extracted with chloroform, and the amount of radioactivity was determined by scintillation counting. Each sample was run in triplicate, and background values were determined with microsomal protein inactivated by boiling. Sample containing aminoglutethimide was used as a positive control. |
