| Description: | The inhibitory activity of each test compound was evaluated by monitoring the formation of [14C]GGPP from FPP, using [14C]IPP as the substrate. To confirm the formation of radioactive products, one-dimensional thin-layer chromatography (TLC), with autoradiographic detection of [14C]FPP/[14C]GGPP, was used. The inhibitor concentrations required for 50% enzyme inhibition (the IC50 values) were obtained from a graphical fit of the data using a rectangular hyperbolic function. |
