| Description: | The term selective inhibitor as used in reference to MMPs refers to an inhibitor that inhibits the enzymatic activity of one MMP in the presence of one or more other MMPs, typically by at least one order of magnitude, for example, with respect to the Ki. The methods used to obtain Ki data are known in the art and are described, for example, by Brown et al., J. Amer. Chem. Soc. 2000, 122(28), 6799-6800, and the references cited therein. Additional useful assays and techniques are described in U.S. Patent Publication No. 2009/0209615 (Lipton et al.), which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. |
