| Description: | The ligand binding domain for PPAR was fused to the yeast transcription factor GAL4 DNA binding domain. CV-1 cells were transiently transfected with PPAR chimera expression vector along with a reporter construct containing five copies of the GAL4 DNA binding site driving expression of secreted placental alkaline phosphatase (SPAP). Alkaline phosphatase activity was corrected for transfection efficiency using the beta-galactosidase activity as an internal standard. EC50 is the concentration of test compounds needed to induce 50% of the maximum alkaline phosphatase activity. |
